Cleaning is our soap-erpower

Blackthorn Class have been busy lately. They have been learning all about the costs and skills required to operate as part of a mini-business by setting up a car washing service to offer staff the opportunity to have their cars washed for a fee. Pupils have begun working on the new Senior Cycle and have used the car wash to apply their learning practically in a way that is both engaging and teaches essential life-skills fostering independence, self-esteem and self-confidence. They have engaged with learning across 3 of the 4 curricular areas including Communication & Literacy, Numeracy and 2 electives (Visual Art & My Life, My Finances), having fun and building skills along the way.
