Gold for our Green-fingered pupils!
Our green fingered gardeners at St Marys have been hard at work improving our beautiful school garden. This year, they have planted an orchard, made a boggy area with microponds and grown fruit and vegetables.
Their efforts were rewarded last week when they won the award for ‘Best Garden in Cork City’ in the Muintir na Tire annual School Garden Competition. The gardens were judged on food production, biodiversity, up-cycling and the use of the garden as a learning experience.
We are so proud of all the work that students and staff have put in to earn the award. It shows that St Marys really is a place to grow.
