Fun at the Farm
Ash, Oak, Rowan and Willow Classes headed out to Leahy’s Farm today for their school tour. Pupils loved getting on the buses and travelling to the farm. We enjoyed exploring the maze and climbing the tall tower in the centre to ring the bell. We also got to see lots of the farm animals we were learning about. There were beautiful horses, pigs, chicken, lambs, goats and even alpacas which were new to the pupils. We then got to ride on the barrel train which was a real highlight. Next, we headed to the Jolly barn to see some of the smaller animals. We met mice, guinea pigs and rabbits and had the opportunity to pet them which we loved. We even saw a giant rabbit named Buster, he was huge!! Before we moved on, some pupils got to hold and pet a small snake….they were definitely much braver than the staff :L
We moved to the back of the barn to feed the calves and alpacas which was such fun, they were so cute and friendly. We checked out the vintage tractors and fire engines before heading back to the café to enjoy our lunch and finished off with a delicious scoop of Leahy’s farm ice-cream! What a day!!
